Fiddleheads foraged fresh from our Minnesota forests and delivered to us the day after. The unfurled frond of a young ostrich fern, which looks like the scrolling on the pegbox of a violin, is less bitter than other varieties and an always-welcome first sign of edible spring! We love them sautéed in butter with crunchy sea salt served as a side, kind of like asparagus. Great in salads, as a topper to grilled meats or simply sautéed and eaten.
