Join us for an inspiring evening with the authors and contributors of Kitchens of Hope. These are the kitchens where
immigrants shared their stories of resilience as they prepared recipes from their home countries and created new lives
in America. Meet contributing home cooks Haydee of El Salvador with pupusas, Delgermaa (Deegii) Lkhasuren of Mongolia with dumplings, and Shereen Fakier of South Africa with samoosas, who will bring their deeply personal stories and dishes to life. Each registered guest will receive a copy of Kitchens of Hope (retail $29.95), which celebrates the power of food to foster empathy, community and understanding.
Menu: El Salvadoran Pupusas (corn flour cakes with fillings, served with a tomato sauce and a cabbage slaw); South African/Indian Samoosas with Tamarind Dipping Sauce; Steamed Mongolian Dumplings.
Classes are designed for participants 18 years and older. Teens ages 14 to 17 can take part in a class if accompanied by an adult (18 years or older), but a ticket is required for each person in attendance. Please see our FAQs for more info.
