Fiddlehead ferns are typically found in our local woods in May, but we couldn't wait. So we went out on a limb and found these fine Osterrich Fiddleheads in the woods of Maine. No worries, these will be foraged in the morning and shipped overnight. Fiddlehead ferns are the unfurled frond of a young Ostrich fern, which looks like the scrolling at the top end of a violin neck, is less bitter than other varieties and perfect sauteed in butter and served as a first sign of edible spring!
